Hello,

Where is a good overview of how to interpret the site stats? For example, if a blog is getting 100 hits from distinct hosts a day, is this "real" traffic, or does it include traffic from boxes that crawl the web, etc?

the reason why I ask, is because if I look at "referring url's", the numbers don't seem to match up, and are a lot less.

Thanks!

Search engines are included in the distinct hosts statistic. Some more info on that statistic is here:

Referers are a different statistic; there is no correlation between this stat and distinct hosts. Referers show how visitors found your site, distinct hosts shows how many computers visited your site. This page:

has a bit more on referer stats.
