Hey John,
When I try to insert Amazon Associate links into my posts, the links don't work and either bring me back to my own blog or to Amazon's own page. It's really frustrating, could ya help me out? Thanks! _________________ Ken Lee

Can you show us an example of the page where the problem is, let us know specifically which link on the page is not working as you expected it to, and the URL where you had wanted the link to go to? |

Hi John,
Sorry about not including the link, here is the page:
http://photoprof.blogharbor.com/blog/_archives/2005/4/21/604641.html
For the Rebel XT link, I wanted it to go here:
<a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?tag=digitalphot02-20&creative=9325&camp=1789&link_code=ur2&path=tg/detail/-/B0007QKN22/qid=1114102790/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846">Rebel XT</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=digitalphot02-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" />
Thanks! _________________ Ken Lee

This is the code I'm seeing when it's inserted via the link button in the Post section.
<a href="%3Ca%20href=%22http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?tag=digitalphot02-20&amp;creative=9325&amp;camp=1789&amp;link_code=ur2&amp;path=tg/detail/-/B0007QKN22%22%3ERebel%20XT%3C/a%3E%3Cimg%20src=%22http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=digitalphot02-20&amp;l=ur2&amp;o=1%22%20width=%221%22%20height=%221%22%20border=%220%22%20alt=%22%22%20/%3E">Rebel XT</a> _________________ Ken Lee

Ken, going back to your earlier message, that is not a URL. It is a piece of HTML code. It includes HTML for a link, and also an image.
You can't enter that via the Link button when you create a post. You can only enter a URL. This is a URL:
Code: | http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?tag=digitalphot02-20&creative=9325&camp=1789&link_code=ur2&path=tg/detail/-/B0007QKN22/qid=1114102790/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846 |
This is not a URL:
Code: | <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?tag=digitalphot02-20&creative=9325&camp=1789&link_code=ur2&path=tg/detail/-/B0007QKN22/qid=1114102790/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846">Rebel XT</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=digitalphot02-20&l=ur2&o=1" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" /> |
so you can not enter it via the Link button when you create a post...
See what I mean? That's HTML, not a link address.
You can enter this HTML into your post by clicking on the Toggle Mode icon to enter the Source mode so you can input HTML directly, pasting that code in, then clicking on the Toggle Mode icon to return to Display mode. But it is not a link... |
