Hi Folks -

I've been trying to figure out how to post a small picture and bio in the left column of a 3-column layout and I'm stymied.

I would rather not have my site visitors have to click on a folder saying "about this site" and I've seen what I want deployed on other pages - Tried looking at the HTML code and still couldn't figure it out.

Thanks for any assistance on this in advance!

Kevin

I've been trying to figure out how to post a small picture and bio in the left column of a 3-column layout and I'm stymied.

If you want to create this in the sidebar, not as a separate page, I would suggest you learn how to upload an image via your File Manager:

http://demo.blogharbor.com/blog/_archives/2004/6/3/82286.html
http://demo.blogharbor.com/blog/_archives/2004/8/14/123896.html

Once you have uploaded it, note its URL by copying the link as explained here. Now that you've got your image uploaded, you'll want to create a custom component for your blog as explained here:

http://demo.blogharbor.com/blog/_archives/2004/1/12/13602.html

You might use code like this in your custom component:

Code:
<div class="component">
   <div class="componentHead">About Me</div>
   <div class="componentContent">
   <img src="addressOfUploadedImage"><br>
   I am really handsome, smart and modest.
   </div>
</div>

Of course you would replace the addressOfUploadedImage with the actual URL of the image you uploaded via your File Manager.

Hey Kroddy,

John has hit the nail on the head, all you need is a custom "About Me" component. I've got one on my blog, and that's exactly how I did it too.
