Why do readers after setting up a readers account and confirming account then go to log in and get the message "Authentication Failed" but yet they are able to log in and it is displayed as logged in?

Have you experienced this personally? If so, can you send us the login information for the account which displays this behavior and on which blog this is occurring?
If you're hearing from a user that this is happening and not experiencing it first hand, I would suspect that the user is not actually logging in at your blog and receiving this "Authentication Failed" message, they are clicking on the link in the confirmation email and receiving an error, since you only can confirm once. My guess is that your user already confirmed the account, and logged in. Then they are for some reason clicking on the link in the email again and confusing that error with an error to log in...
If you can get a complete step by step outline of what your user is doing, what they though would happen by doing that, and what happened instead, and send it to us we'll be glad to help. |
