Can you tell me what the bandwith number that shows when we login to our control panel?

That's the amount of data that your weblog has transferred during the current month. So if the number you see on the QUICK STATS section of the Dashboard is 100 MB, that means that your readers have requested 100 MB of data during the current month. If you click on the Web Stats link you will also see this same number in the Bytes transferred row of the General Summary chart in the current month's column.
