Is there a way to secure uploaded images to an area that doesnt cause a break in the secured session when administering your blog via the control panel? I just get an annoying html security message that i am leaving the secure area whenever my article contains graphics which I have uploaded.

There is no way to upload images to a secure area, unfortunately. Yes, the browser may pop up some security alerts since it sees content being delivered in both encrypted and unencrypted formats, but this is not really a "break in the secured session." The warning is coming because the browser sees all the content coming in an encrypted session except the image in the article, there is no actual security issue there.
