I noticed that when a user sends a comment that contains a long sequence of characters (like: [really long URL removed by moderator]) it can brake a layout of an article page. That's how it looks:

Is removing that comment the only way of solving the problem or is there any other possibility?

That's really a limitation of HTML and web browsers, not of our blog service: without a space the browser doesn't know where to break or wrap the line. As you can see it affects this forum page as well.

There's nothing you can do except to remove the comment, and ask your reader to please link words and not URLs.

If the blog owner can edit the post, then either removing the link, or getting a http://tinyurl.com/ TinyURL that will replace the long URL and substituting it for the long one will preserve the comment and - I presume - restore the layout.

@#%^&8( VB wouldn't do the link correctly, no matter which way I tried it. Can one use the "code" button above for such things as "a href"?

I'm a big fan of TinyURL. I don't bother unless the URL is miserably long, because, even with a shortcut stored in the browser header (drag it onto the page you want the tinyURL for; works in Netscape and Firefox; dunno about Micro$haft), it's an extra step, but when it's one of those looong URLs, it's a worthwhile convenience. I've used it in posts, and I think have plugged it in a post. It's a free service.

Actually, this was in a comment and comments can not be edited.
