|
|
Some person who identifies him/herself as "IeriWinner" - and adds a different number behind each one - keeps spamming me. This critter enters google.com (with http - complete URL) as their URL. I am so thankful for the Blogware security, because even though it gets through the Blogware security (thanks to their use of Google's URL, no doubt), at least it doesn't get posted because I've got my security set to "auto-delete spam; moderate all other".
I think this person is trying to get people to search for his/her site. I finally did, but I used A9 - not Google (Do Not Feed The Troll), and discovered that there are a great many other people with spam trackbacks on his/her site.
Anybody else had this, or have ideas or information?

Essentially that's what all trackback spammers are trying to do. Don't take the bait. Just Hit Delete and Block... |

Delete and block Google?? John, what are you thinking?
I left a single instance of that person's trackback spam setting there, and reported it to Google. It magically disappeared overnight. I like to think that they've gone after the jerk. |

Actually, we maintain a whitelist and a blacklist. Google is on the whitelist, so even if you block them, the whitelist will override the block. |

We had the same trackback spammer. Worse lately. We do just delete and block but boy is it irritating.
Also have had weird thinkgs happening to some of the links on some of our past posts. Anyone know anything about why that happens? _________________ Ww |

Please do not cross post, one post is enough; it's not necessary to repost an identical query elsewhere on the forum. I've replied to your original query. |

IeriWinner is back again, and left 75 (yes, seventy-five) trackbacks on me. Someone else left a puny one, for a total of 76 spam trackbacks in the last 24 hours.
John, I know you guys are doing your best; I just wanted to whine a bit. It's so frustrating. I do hope that there will be a breakthrough on shutting those people down soon, real soon! |

Unfortunately, we don't see any breakthroughs any time soon, much less real soon... We'll continue to try our best, but unfortunately the spammers are relentless... |
