I am sure I am not alone in constructing a blog like this:

1. There is a main page whose prime purpose is to greet a reader and refer them on to the material in subpages, by category. And this purpose is explained in the first entry/article on the main page

2. However, from time to time, I will want to put an entry on the main page.

Given this, is there a way to make the introductory piece 'sticky', ie always at the top, automatically. Specifically, any new entries appear just below the standing introductory piece?

I have searched the Publishers Manual page for 'sticky' but got no hits.

EJ

PS. An example of this approach, used for forum(s), can be found at Mozilla/Firefox.

Sticky posts are not currently available, but are an often requested feature and we have been listening to you all!

While I can not guarantee that this feature will be available in the next maintenance update, there is work going on in this area... Wink

Given sticky is not yet available, I have experimented to get an introduction floating back to the top after I had made other posts.

I did this by going to edit article and doing a reset the publication to today's date. This does have the effect of putting my introduction back to the top of the blog.

Downside, the date/time in the display list remains as originally entered. This means that the previous/next entries when navigating remain unchanged so the edit order and the display order have got out of synch!

Worth paying that price?
