|
|
Background
I am adding to my 'photos' some computer-generated images.
The application used generates .bmp files: I know that blogharbor does not support .bmp files.
However, I browsed to the target folder and selected what I thought was a .jpg. The upload began through several passes of the progress bar.
Then I got an error message against the source file, with a .bmp extension.
On review, I noticed that the browser/ load file window only offers 'file types' of all types.
Comment
Would the following be possible:
1. in the file select window only the file types supported are displayed
2. to assist selection of files, the file type offers display of individual supported filetypes, eg jpg
3. if the user does (still) manage to select an invalid file type, the extension is checked and an error message displayed at once.
Puzzle
I wonder what was going on while my .bmp file was being processed?

I know that blogharbor does not support .bmp files.
Technically speaking, it is the Photo Album feature that does not support BMP files. If you want to work with a BMP file, you can upload one to your File Manager. You can upload any type of file to the File Manager.
Would the following be possible: 1. in the file select window only the file types supported are displayed
It's a great suggestion, but unfortunately web browsers do not support this capability in any universally implementable method. |
