something ive been meaning to ask for a while - i remember reading posts in the past, that achiving for 5 months only, is what is presently available, but there is a work - around

I consider accessing past posts essential, for years back - particularly as part of my activity is to go to a lot of trouble to make comments on artists work, and provide links to their sites - these links have value for years - as long as the sites remain - in fact the more links there are, the more useful Skymondo becomes, in this aspect of its function

so is the work - around going to be difficult ? something a non technical person like myself can manage ? will we be able to retain posts going back years ?

im sure other blogharbor bloggers will be interested in this issue also

another thought on this subject John

if monthly content is filed into categories - and the posts in the categories are retained - i dont belive i would have a problem if thats case , with monthly archives of only 5 months - as long as the posts filed away into categories are retained

is this how it will work ? - ive noticed im into my 4th month now - so this issue is becoming relevant

I think you are misinterpreting something you may have read on this forum... Let me be clear:

All of your posts are permanent. They are never deleted by us. All posts will stay on your blog until you delete them.

There is a component called "Monthly Archives" which links to the 5 most recent months, but you should not interpret the fact that there is not a link to the sixth month as meaning posts older than 5 months are removed...

You will still find links to your older articles in the Yearly Archive component, via your Paging links, via the the search component, etc.

Hope this clears up any confusion you might have on this issue.

I had a similar issue where I wanted more than 5 months of archives to show. Here's the thread with a workaround provided by John.
