ive read the notes for having a banner in the header -
ive tried it several times - i think i know the procedure - but i cant get it to work

the image will go into a post perfectly ok - as a banner i get the broken image icon - ive checked and rechecked the code - repeated the process several times

i cant see why it wont work

solved it - I finally spotted a missing

i needed ><img

its amazing how im blind to seeing one >

Looks like whatever you had there you took down, so if you want us to try and diagnose what you did, you will need to put it up again so we can see it in order to advise...

OK, it's up now and looks like you figured it out.

A few tips:
  • That banner is 976 pixels wide. That's pretty wide. If you are going to use something that wide you probably won't have much room for text links to "Home" and "Subscribe" like you have there.
  • Consider using this technique for your banner, it allows you to put the banner as the bakground image of the header and "float" your text links above it. Blogs which have implemented this technique are here and here.

and thanks for the further info on the banners - ive got what i want for the time being on the banner look, but ill try that overlay text technique in the future -
