In the dashboard, I can only display the 50 more recent comments. I need to view the information of a certain comment that is older than that to check the poster's ip. What can I do? _________________ Om Shanti |

Since the expert is busy, one of your fellow novices is trying to help - with what effect yet unknown.
Do you know when, or to which post, the comment was attached? If so, maybe you can get at it through the post itself. I find that if I go to a post through edit, it lists existing comments and trackbacks right under the header Edit Article. If I click on that listing, it displays the comments in the same format as it does on the admin home page.
I don't know what you can do with that, but it does show you the same stuff about the comment as is displayed for newer ones. Would you mind telling what and/or how you can manipulate that information, or gain further access to it? |

Thanks for your help. I got an annonymus comment and wanted to check if it was written by someone I had in mine, that's why I wanted to know that person's ip. I didn't know that when I edited an article I could see the comments, but thanks to you, now I know. _________________ Om Shanti |

Um, well, thanks ... I think.
Only problem is, I don't know how one can check an IP number from that information. Is it possible? If so, somebody please tell me now. |

It appears automatically, doesn't it? You get some info from the poster when you view the comments. _________________ Om Shanti |

I don't know how I missed noticing that before.
Now it should be obvious that John shouldn't take a vacation without lining up a competent stand-in - and that clearly ain't me. |
