Upload a template to the staging area

Hello John,

I've often wondered what this option means in the Edit Template area -

"Upload a template to the staging area"

- because when I click on the Browse button, it leads me back to my computer.

What could I upload?
Where would it appear?
What would it modify or enhance of the existing templates?

If you are customizing your blog by modifying your templates, you may wish to make your edits on your local computer and upload your local file instead of copying and pasting into the textarea in the control panel. There's no difference between uploading your local file or copying from that file and pasting it into the input field in your control panel.
