Is there a component I can put on my blog that creates an email to me once the user clicks on it? I've seen other blogs with this "contact me" code on it and I was wondering if we had anything similar here at Blogharbor?

We don't have any pre-configured component which will do this for you, but it should be pretty easy to create your own component. Here is a How To on creating a custom component which will match the look and feel of the rest of your blog:

http://demo.blogharbor.com/blog/_archives/2004/1/12/13602.html

Just choose a title like "Contact" and use text such as the following as the componentContent part:

Code:
<a href="mailto:support@blogharbor.com">Click here</a> to contact me!

If you are feeling more adventurous, read this How To:

http://demo.blogharbor.com/blog/_archives/2004/1/18/14393.html

to learn how to create a form you can create which would mail the results to you. You could, for example, create a page for this form, and instead of linking to the mailto link in the example component above, link to the page with the form instead... Adventurous, but could be fun as the form can be customized quite extensively.

Hope this helps!

I prefer to use a contact link as well, but I have one suggestion for you. Don't post a regular "mailto" text link on your site, or the spam spiders will get you within days.

Instead, use character tags to spell out the email address, etc. Everything else (the process described in this thread) is exactly the same.

If you aren't familiar with character tags, this site will encode your address and give you what you need for the component.

Hope this helps! I had to learn the hard way.
