I have a client very interested in using the Blogharbor.com framework for a community collection literature reviews. The hook is:

In addition to the fields in the standard book-review/movie-review, they very much would like to add a number of graduated review values, say "Clarity" and the user would select either a mutually exclusive radio button or from a drop-down box from 0 through 5. The result would display as:

Clarity : 3

Any ideas how I can accomplish this? Where can I find an in-depth manual on writing templates for this server?

Awaiting your many inspiring replies!
Yoel

The media reviews are based on a standard specification known as RVW, which stands for - you got it - ReVieWs. The spec is here:

http://www.pmbrowser.info/rvw/0.2/

The specification says the RVW format is:

Quote:
...intended to allow machine-readable reviews to be integrated into feeds, thus allowing reviews to be automatically compiled from distributed sources.

Did you know that your blog publishes a machine-readable file containing your reviews at the path /blog/reviews.xml?

It is not possible to create your own fields and insert them into our system. If the RVW standard evolves, we can add support for the evolved specification, but we will not be adding our own non-standard fields.

The RVW specification pages lists a QuickTopic discussion list which asks for your comments, suggestions and corrections. Perhaps your involvement in the discussion there could lead to a revision to the specification, which we would then be obligated to support...

Hope this clarifies things with respect to the Reviews system. We think there are many possibilities for the RVW-based system and look forward to seeing the evolution of the format and software used to aggregate the format.
