Hola John!
I'm wondering if I can introduce HTML code in the excerpt window. What I'd like to do is to add a small square thumbnail to each one of my entries... Is this possible?

Yes, you can put HTML in the excerpt area. You will have to compose it manually, however, as the Rich Text tools for creating HTML are not available in that window.
You might try creating the summary in the Article Body area, then switching to Source mode to copy the HTML and enter it into the Summary area.
Or you could try the ecto for Mac or Blogjet for Windows blogging client which might make composing HTML-based summaries easier.
