|
Hi,
We have WYSIWYG desktop editor called Zoundry Blog Writer and we just started to support Blogharbor. We would really appreciate it if some of you could test this software with BlogHarbor. Here is some information on how to set up as well as the download link:
System Requirement:
- Windows XP (or Windows 2000).
Download Information:
The most recent build which supports BlogHarbor can be found at:
Edited:
The build has been moved to a public beta. The release is now available from our website.
http://www.zoundry.com/index.html
Edited (Oct 05, 2005):
Added BH specific user guide:
http://www.zoundry.com/userguide/userguidebh.html
Account setup:
a) Choose Tools->BlogAccountSetting menu (or you can click on the Account Setup link on the sidebar).
b) Choose New Account.
c) On the Account Settings wizard page, enter:
- Account Name: an account profile name (e.g. "Blog Harbor")
- Account Type: choose the "Movable Type" api (not the "Six Apart Movable Type").
- Username: your username
- Password: your admin password
- XML-RPC URL: enter either the
SSL URL https://www.blogware.com/xmlrpc.cgi (recomended), or
Non SSL URL http://api.blogharbor.com/xmlrpc.cgi
d) Press the Next button. This will retrieve your account blogs (may take a moment).
Edited: On the final account setup screen, choose FTP for the file upload method.
e) Finish up.
Media Repository (FTP) Setup:
Create a directory in BlogHabor:
I usually create a separate directory in BlogHabor for Zoundry BlogWriter to use. For example, I created a directory named mediarepo - BlogWriter will upload your images etc. to this directory. (you could also simply upload your images to the root (home) directory)
a) Sign-in to your BlogHarbor account and go to the File Manager.
b) Create a directory named "mediarepo" (without quotes) under your Home (root) directory.
Set up Blog Writer Media Repository:
a) On Blog Writer, choose the Tools->MediaRepository menu item. This will display the media repository
config dialog.
b) Enter the following information:
- Host: yourusername.blogharbor.com
- Port: 21 (or leave it blank)
- Username: yourusername@yourusername.blogharbor.com
- Password: your admin password
- URL: http://url_to_your_blog/mediarepo
- Path: /mediarepo
(these settings can be found in the Blog Harbor FileManager page.)
Note - the /mediarepo is the directory I had created earlier. Example setting: if my username is zoundry and my blog is zoundry.blogharbor.com, then the settings would be:
- Host: zoundry.blogharbor.com
- Port: 21
- Username: zoundry@zoundry.blogharbor.com
- Password: my admin password
- URL: http://zoundry.blogharbor.com/mediarepo
- Path: /mediarepo
Apply these settings. You can test your settings by pressing the Test Settings dialog. (more info on Test Settings : http://www.zoundry.com/support.html#Q1.3b)
Once you are setup, you should be able to 'download' your recent posts by choosing Post->Download menu option. The post/publish option can be found under the same menu.
For more information, you can visit our support FAQ page: http://www.zoundry.com/support.html or the forums at http://forums.zoundry.com.
Thanks,
- pidge

Thanks tigersi! I'll check these forums as well as the Zoundry forums for defects/bugs and other feedback on this beta preview release.
[Edit:
I moved your 'post-as-draft' message to the Bugs section in the Zoundry forums - this way we can track the bugs/new feature requests.

We have now put the latest build as a public beta. More information and link to the free download, follow this link:

Thanks for those who sent us feedback via email and the forums (Roaring Tiger). As this is a public beta, we will collect feed back (and bug reports) from various users and try to include any defect fixes on the next cycle of developer builds.
Thanks,
