Managing trackbacks

Haaalllp!! Please?

In mid-November, my computer died. From the time (two weeks later) that I returned and discovered that the site was dying until now, I've posted very little to it. Just now, I put up a notice that the migration was complete, and I looked over the most recent page. I saw one post that had 5 trackbacks to it, so I opened that page so I could see who my fans were.



I discovered that it was porn sites linking to me. Why, I cannot imagine. I wasted no time in pulling up all the trackbacked articles, checking them, and then editing those posts with the embarassing links to delete trackbacks. What I'd like to know is if there is a way to delete unwanted trackbacks without disabling the feature. I mean, if they want to link to me, that's their business, but I have no least desire to funnel readers to them, thankyouverymuch! I believe in free speech, but theirs is not speech that I care to promote.

You can remove trackbacks right from your Dashboard page, instructions on how to remove unwanted trackbacks here.

If you do not want to allow trackbacks you can disable them on a per post basis as shown here, and you can always save that as your default from there by checking Update posting defaults.
