Is it possible to have hypertext in a post? If there is coding I could insert to take a reader from the text to a footnote and back, I'd really appreciate your telling me what it is.

If by "hypertext" you mean HTML, then yes of course.

The HTML code you are referring to is called a named anchor. While we can not provide HTML instruction through this forum, we can recommend this reference for information on coding named anchors.
