Two questions:
1) why, no matter what size I select (original, various pixels) do my photos appear with the top cut off?
2) it says to delete a photo click on it, yet I can find no mechanism to achieve that. Had to go in to Post Manager to delete them.

I think you are looking at the category page, which only shows the thumbnails of an image. As noted in a previous thread:
Quote: | Thumbnails created by our Photo Album system are hints, they are not original ratio thumbnails. Our system takes a square piece out of the exact middle of the image, and uses that as the thumbnail. It does not take the full sized image and make a complete reduction at a smaller size. Our system functions in this manner so that you can upload files of any height or width and specify the size of the thumbnail, and have thumbnails of a uniform size, though we do understand that there are drawbacks to this method; the rule of thirds tells us that the best photos are most often composed with the subject somehere other than dead center... |
So unfortunately some thumbnails may not contain the content you were hoping for. We do not alter the original image, so when you click on a thumbnail to visit the Permanent Link, your photo will be displayed at the original ratio.

You would indeed need to delete photos from within the control panel. If you were thinking that you could delete a photo from the blog page itself, that is not possible. |
