I know about RSS (sort of), but I want readers to be able to subscribe to the blog via email. Is there a component for that? Or how would I do that? Thanks. Jan |

We do have a builtin email notifications system, your visitors who create a Reader Account can choose to receive email notifications of your new posts.
If you prefer that visitors be able to subscribe to receive your articles via email without having to create a reader account, then I would suggest using a free third party service called FeedBlitz. |

OK so I made sure the notification settings are correct (they defaulted that way), but I looked for a 'create a reader' account component and didn't find one. How do you give the readers a place to sign up? Thanks. |

The Create a Reader Account link is displayed on the Login component to users who have not logged into the blog. If you or your readers are logged in, they will not see the Create a Reader Account link... |

I created a test reader account, but still didn't see how to sign up for email notifications. What am I missing? |

Just as an FYI, a "reader account" is a user account that doesn't own a blog... Your own user account, the one you publish your blog with, is also a reader account...
In any case, if you log in to your blog with your test reader account, look for a link to My Preferences in the header of your blog (it's there by default, though you may have removed the component that generated it). A reader would control their email notifications from this preferences page.
I'd need to know your blog URL if you have any additional questions along the lines of "I don't see the My Preferences link"... |

I had indeed removed it. I put it back and now it's there. Thanks. |
