I'm now getting ERROR messages when I try to respond to a comment with a threaded comment.
And I've had some feedback from a couple of people that they have not been able to comment.
Any known problem? _________________ Des Walsh

I haven't heard any reports recently of problems commenting.

Can you walk me through the steps to reproduce this problem, and let me know the exact comment which causes this error and the text of that error message? |

Wanting to reply to the comment at
http://www.thinkinghomebusiness.com/blog/_archives/2007/1/3/2616114.html#817800
Typed in the following (similar to a couple of attempts this morning):
Maybe there is a business opportunity here. A service for small business, offering a kind of no-liability poison test. Small Business Person gets an idea, is invited to join a consortium, take on a project outside his or her usual line and checks in with the service. After a quick chat, appropriate response issues - from 'sounds fascinating and right up your alley, why not evaluate it further?' to 'are you crazy? remember last time you had an offer too good to refuse?'.
This time I just had to fill in the CAPTCHA (this morning I had to provide login details but had not logged out).
then got this result

I don't doubt that you received an error but I can not duplicate one here. I just tried replying to your comment with the same text and did not receive an error either as an authenticated user or as an unauthenticated user.
So it doesn't appear to me to be an issue with the content of your reply. If you are able to isolate what element is causing the error, please let me know. I simply can not replicate one here, so I would need your help in determining the exact steps necessary to reproduce this error as another user on another machine... |

Thanks John. I'll see if I can make some time in the next day or so to have another go at it. _________________ Des Walsh

John
Struck the same problem today when trying to leave a comment on Tris Hussey's A View From The Isle - http://blog.larixconsulting.com/
So I did a couple of tests on my own site. Problem appears to be from my own url - http://www.thinkinghomebusiness.com. When I put another url in - http://www.businessandblogging.com (a wordpress site) - my test comment went through ok. I then did likewise on Tris' blog, putting the alternate url in, and the comment went through.
I've checked - twice - my excluded urls on my firewall list and can't find my own there (happened once before), but what concerns me is if my BlogHarbor address - http://www.thinkinghomebusiness.com - is somehow being blocked network-wide by Blogware. _________________ Des Walsh

Actually, I just checked your firewall and your URL actually is there, www.thinkinghomebusiness.com was added on Tue 26 Dec 2006 11:06 AM EST. Remove your URL from your firewall and you should be fine.
I've tested other blogs and can post comments containing your URL just fine. If you've sent his blog a trackback before, perhaps Tris accidentally added you to his firewall. It can happen quite easily, as we all know. Ask him to check his firewall, I'd bet your URL is listed there. |

update: It's ok, I fixed it.
Seems my url got added to those firewalled in the settings section. I just deleted it from the list. |
