|
|
Hi,
At the moment, the format of the date that appears in my post headers is -
'Day, Month date'
e.g. 'Monday, January 15' (i.e. no 'Year')
How do I go about adding the year and changing the format?

Most of the look and feel, the presentation elements of your blog design, are controlled by modifying the style template. Colors and fonts of your blog for example are modified using the style template.
So if you just wanted to change the color of the date, you would do that via the style template. But if you want to change the format altogether, say adding the year or changing the month from a word to a number, that would be a structural change. The structure of your blog is controlled in the structural templates such as the base, category, and article templates.
To change the structure of your posts, you would need to alter the article template to change how the article is presented at its permanent link and modify the category template to change its presentation when displayed in categories. Here are a few links which talk about how to modify these templates:
With this as background, see this thread where we previously discussed how to change the date format by modifying the article and category templates. The variables you can use to modify the date format are shown here.
Also, our BlogHarbor Cruise #3 podcast in particular has a lot of useful information about how to customize your blog. |
