When I provide an excerpt, there seems to be no way to break up the lines of the text -- it all comes out as one large paragraph. This behavior seems to happen regardless of whether it is auto-generated or manually created.
What I want is:
"article"
by Xemu on blah blah
Some text.
Some more text.
End of excerpt. more>>
But what I get is:
"article"
by Xemu on blah blah
Some text. Some more text. End of excerpt. more>>

If you are using the Rich Text Editor, you will need to add the line breaks yourself as HTML; use the Break tag
Code:
<br>
to add a single line feed.
If you turn off the Rich Text Editor to use the Simple Editor, then you will see a checkbox on the right side of your articles for Convert newlines. When enabled, the system will automatically convert any carriage returns in your article or summary to a line break in HTML.
So if you like using the Rich Text Editor, the short answer is to use the Break tag to add a line feed in your excerpt.
