I'm interested in having a few more items which would be pages rather than posts and having those linked with a menu bar along the top of each blog page - as is done for example by the Otter Group at
http://www.ottergroup.com/ (I realise this may not be a Blogware site).
Would this be difficult to achieve? Is there a help page you can point me to?

Actually, those links are all to posts (aka articles) or categories. There's nothing different about them.

Would what be difficult to achieve? I'm not sure what you're seeing on that page which is different...
You can customize your header and adding your own icons/links by either creating a custom component containing that HTML or by modifying your base template to contain that custom HTML.

Well, there's a help page we can point you to if you do want to actually create "pages" as opposed to articles, see this chapter in the User Manual:
http://demo.blogharbor.com/blog/_archives/2004/12/24/214202.html
This chapter explains how to create "Web Pages" which are pages which assume the look and feel of your blog, but are not articles; the content of the page is entirely up to you.
Web Pages are a perfect choice for About pages, Contact pages, and those types of content which are not really "articles", so there's no comments, trackbacks, dates, etc. on a Web Page.

John
Thank you, once again. I have to say, it's so good to go to bed at night here on the 'far side of the world' having dumped a problem on you and to find in the morning one of your very clear, comprehensive answers. It's very reassuring, and I'm sure for others too, that you adopt a 'there are no silly questions' policy, esp for us non technical people.
