Is it possible to make the main page static by creating a webpage and naming it as the index. My blog is going to be for the most part private. Only about 100 people will be viewing it. It would be nice to have the main page be filled with static info (with the same look at the others and with all the components). |

Your easiest option would be to simply create some categories, and only post your introductory content to the Main Page category. Post the rest of your content to subcategories. In that way your Main Page would be filled with static info and have the same look and feel as the others.
There is no way to specify an article or Web Page as the Main Page. |

When I tried what you suggested, the date stays the same for the original post. I do not like that option because then it makes the webpage look like it hasn't been updated.
If I were to purchase a DOMAIN, could I use that to direct to one of my uploaded static pages? or does it have to go to the index page?
I read http://demo.blogharbor.com/blog/_archives/2003/11/27/7410.html but I could not find an answer. |

You can create a file called index.html and upload it via the File Manager and that page would then appear as your home page... |

Thanks. This works although I had to change the banner component too so that it would be linked the right page. However, now the calendar and the month archives still point to the original main page. Is there a way of changing this? I would rather have the archives point to one of the category pages. This happens only after the visitor were to click first on one of the category pages and then click on the calendar. |

Not sure what you mean or what you want... The calendar points to what would essentially be described as "day archives": a category view of posts made on a particular day. Same with the month archives: a category view of posts made on a particular month. These components do not link to the original main page. |

That's OK. I'm not sure if I even know what I want. I decided to not include those components. |
