hi, I have some trouble with my photo albums, I have posted some pictures but the thumbnails keep getting cut in half, is there a way to resize the whole photo and not crop the picture.

Thumbnails created by our Photo Album system are hints, they are not original ratio thumbnails. Our system takes a square piece out of the exact middle of the image, and uses that as the thumbnail. It does not take the full sized image and make a complete reduction at a smaller size. Our system functions in this manner so that you can upload files of any height or width and specify the size of the thumbnail, and have thumbnails of a uniform size, though we do understand that there are drawbacks to this method; the rule of thirds tells us that the best photos are most often composed with the subject somehere other than dead center...
It is not possible to change the way automatic thumbnails are created by Photo Albums. If you want more control over thumbnails then you should consider uploading your images to the File Manager directly, and creating your own thumbnails to link to those images. These pages from the manual discuss adding files to the File Manager:

Some blogging clients such as Ecto for Mac and Blogjet for Windows allow finer control over the formatting of your articles, and can make it easy for you to create thumbnails linking to your images. Many folks prefer using such editors to post to their blogs.
We have some information on configuring Ecto for our service here and some instructions on configuring Blogjet for our service here. |

I am posting pictures of native american flutes on my blog. The original flute pictures are 600 pixels by 155 pixels, so cutting a chunk out of the middle doesn't look like anything. _________________ Garland Coulson,
