John, what would be the correct setup info to post from Zoho writer? I like it cause it converts the internal tags to technorati tags when posting to a blog - something Writely cannot handle.
For a Wordpress-based blog here's the setup:
http://www.sme-blog.com/xmlrpc.php
metaWeblog API.
For blogharbor I tried http://api.blogharbor.com/xmlrpc.cgi but it does not work.
Thanks a lot,
Zoli

For blogharbor I tried http://api.blogharbor.com/xmlrpc.cgi but it does not work.
I had no problem posting to our blogs using that URL using the metaWeblog API. I tested it repeatedly and it worked every time. I used that endpoint URL as well as the SSL version at https://www.blogware.com/xmlrpc.cgi and Zoho was able to post to BlogHarbor without fail every single time...

This is the response I've received from Zoho:
Zoli:
Nice that it worked for your WordPress blog. As I told you in my previous mails, we don't support blogharbor.
Here's a check for your WordPress blog - Type in http://www.sme-blog.com/xmlrpc.php in your browser & you'll get the response "XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only." So, we use the WordPress supported metaWeblog API to post requests (blog posts) from Zoho Writer. Similarly we use Blogger's Atom API (http://www.blogger.com/atom) to post to Blogger (blogspot) blogs.
But do the same thing to http://api.blogharbor.com/xmlrpc.cgi, you'll get a "405 Method Not Allowed. Unexpected error occured while processing XML-RPC request!" message. Seems, your blogharbor blog doesn't allow us to use the blogharbor APIs. We'll have to investigate further on this before we can provide support for blogharbor blogs.
Believe that explains why it is not working for your blogharbor blog. Do get back if you have further queries.
Thanks,
Arvind
ps: Seems blogharbor supports Movable Type/Blogger APIs. Let's see what we can do about this. Have a look at http://demo.blogharbor.com/blog/_archives/2003/12/1/7808.html for more |

Well, I don't know what I am doing differently, but it works now.
Thanks! |

Seems blogharbor supports Movable Type/Blogger APIs
Yes, that is correct. We support the MovableType and metaWeblog APIs and the original Blogger API (not the Atom API). In fact the developer of Blogjet has said that our support of the APIs is cleaner than any service or product out there...
Our support of these APIs is the reason why you are able to use Blogjet, ecto, Flickr, Performancing, Audioblog, Zoundry, and many other softwares and services to post to your blog.
If you were unable to post using the Zoho service, then it is likely that either you (or they) configured their service incorrectly or because of an issue with their support of the MovableType API, not because there is a problem with our MovableType API support.
The bottom line is if any service or software out there supports the MovableType or metaWeblog APIs (essentially all) then you should be able to post to BlogHarbor with that tool.
Well, I don't know what I am doing differently, but it works now.
I suspect there was a problem on their side... As I said, the posts I sent went through immediately and without errors. |
